Franklin Street Festival My wife and I attended the Franklin Street Festival this past weekend, and there was plenty to see and do,
not to mention all of the food choices!
There were noticibly fewer vendors this year, and I suspect that the outrageous
gas prices added to tighter consumer spending caused many out-of-town artisans and vendors to stay home.
The
musical acts we saw Saturday were terrific, but we didn't stay for the evening entertainment. We had to leave a little
early to take advantage of the tax free weekend on clothing!
We saw some beautiful artwork and pottery,
and also saw many unique ideas that really caught our attention. We bought some metal sculpture made from recycled aluminum
cans. I guess the aluminum can be melted down and then worked just like any other metal.
I really enjoyed some
mixed-media art that was absolutely beautiful. I may attempt some mixed-media artwork when I get some spare time. There
are many interesting possibilities with this medium!
Overall the Franklin Street Festival was well worth the $3.50
per gallon gasoline to make the 40 minute drive to Franklin. I highly recommend this festival which is held every April rain
or shine!

GuitarBQ 6Nashville's Doak Turner put together another great party yesterday with plenty of food, drinks, and great
music! It was a wonderful opportunity to see old friends and meet a few new ones, and the weather was as perfect as can be
for this time of the year!
Many thanks to Doak for the wonderful things he does for the Nashville music scene!
