Five stray puppies still need a home, please help!

This is an update to my previous posts about the stray puppies. We've had a good response from folks over the last few days, so Stacie has decided to wait until this weekend to take the remaining five puppies to the pound. I'd like to thank all who have responded to our request for help, and I hope that the rest of the puppies will be adopted soon. Photos of the puppies (and mother) are available in my photo album on my profile page. If you live in the Nashville area and would like to inquire about the stray puppies and the mother, please call Stacie at:

Please see my preceding posts to learn more about these stray puppies.

Thank you very much!

Sincerely,

Stray Puppies need a home! Please help!

MySpace friends,

This is an email I received yesterday from my friend who found a stray dog and her puppies out in the woods behind her house. She may be able to keep the mother, but the puppies will have to be taken to animal control, and hopefully will be put up for adoption. They need good homes immediately. I've posted info about this in my previous blogs, and I have photos on my profile page of the mother and pups. Please take a look at these VERY CUTE puppies and pass this info to anyone you know in the Nashville, Tennessee area who may be able to adopt them.

Thank you,

John Durant

Here's her email:

I will be taking all puppies to the pound monday. : (   This is my last cry for help.

The mama was an abused coon dog  that wandered up to my house about 4 months ago, after much work and feedings I finally was able to bond with mommy dog and build a  relationship after I realized she had 8 puppies in my woods!!

Unfortunately I have 3 large dogs of my own and 2 cats (all previous rescues) and now with all these it makes 12 dogs total. I am not sure why but my hubby is opposed to me keeping all of them. I think I may be able to keep mommy because her name is now Daisy. I need help finding them homes.

They are mixed between Coon dog and Lab mix.  They are sweet and gentle and need a chance. Please let me know if you are interested.

Thank you,

Stacie

Please help...stray puppies need a home immediately!!
Hello friends,

The following is a true story from a friend of mine at work here in the Nashville, Tennessee area. She found a starving stray dog and her nine puppies (5-6 weeks old) in the woods behind her house, and was hoping to find homes for the puppies before having to call the animal control people to get the dogs.

The sad reality is that animal control may end up having to destroy these dogs, and she'd much rather see these puppies go to loving homes if at all possible. She's not sure of the breed, but they're short-haired dogs. The mother is in very rough shape and is nursing the puppies, but the puppies are also eating solid food. She says the puppies look very healthy.

If you live in the Nashville area and know anyone who can help with this situation, please email me at:

Here is her story, and I hope someone out there can help give this story a happy ending....

"To make a long story short, this stray Coon dog has been staying in the woods by my house for over 3 months. She’s been barely surviving because of a lack of food. I’ve been trying to catch her, and she’s been treated so badly she won’t even give me one second of her time. I finally decided to make friends with her, and I left her food in the same place, over and over again. I’ve been feeding her for over a month, hoping to bond with her, with not much luck at all. I don’t think she’s had much human contact!

The other day I went to feed her in the woods where I normally do, and I heard her growling about three feet from me in a little space under the ground, and then I heard nine puppies crying and scurrying off to safety. So there I was, crawling and baby talking with a handful of food that I tossed to her so she would know I was here to help. She chilled out a little bit then.

I’m working really hard to get her to let me pet her. She finally ate food out of my hand, and this morning she didn’t really growl too much. I’ve been sitting three feet away while she and her pups eat so that she’ll know I’m not there to harm them. You have no idea how long and hard I’ve worked with her and for her. She finally ate out of my hand, very skittishly, and then backed away from me growling. I hope she doesn’t bite me, because if I scared her bad enough, I think she would for sure.

So anyways, that’s a short story of how I became a new parent of a whole family of dogs…..

The end for now"....

She can't keep these puppies, so please help if you can. Thank you very much for your time!

Sincerely,

John Durant
