Bracing for Major Snowstorm!Tonight in Nashville we're bracing for a major snowstorm that's scheduled to begin in about twenty
minutes. Get out there while you still can and get your bread and milk, because we may be stranded in our homes for the rest
of the week. The forecast is calling for one inch of snow in the greater Nashville area, with a possibility of two inches
up on the plateau. This could get ugly!
Since my wife and I moved down here about four years ago from Buffalo,
NY, the land of perpetual lake effect snow, we've had a few giggles whenever we see the reaction of southerners
to any amount of snow whatsoever. I guess maybe I'm not being fair in my assessment of their snow phobia, because the
roads down here can be very treacherous if they ice up.
The biggest problem is not really the snow or ice.
It's the amount of steep hills combined with the complete lack of snow equipment and safety rails down south. Very few
roads have guardrails where the shoulder drops off to deep ravines or other dangerous hazards. Along many side roads, the
trees are allow to grow right to the edge of the asphalt. Tennessee roads just aren't built for snow or ice.
Usually the snow lasts for a day and is gone by the next, so any time they even have a rumour of snow down here, the entire
region shuts down until the threat passes or the snow melts. Tonight, the "Snowbird's Flying" folks.... (as
they say on Channel Four News)
.....so stay tuned; we may have to call in the national
guard for search and rescue. Wait a minute...I guess we can't do that, because the National Guard is all in Iraq!

Friday at last!!It's been a busy week for me. My writing sessions went very well, and I hope to share some of that music
with you soon! My goal this weekend is to get at least one new acoustic song or jam session on here, so stay tuned
and we'll see how it goes! :o)
The Saints didn't win, but they played pretty well for most of the game.
At this point, I really don't care who wins the super bowl! The Nashville Preds are doing awesome (#1 right now), and
I'm getting geared up for the Nextel Cup season to start.
I want to thank everyone who checked out some of
my songs this week, and I appreciate your very kind and encouraging words. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and
thanks for stopping by!

Go Saints! My team (Tennessee Titans) won't be going to the Super Bowl, which is lucky for the rest of the NFL playoff
teams. The Titans were on a roll at the end of the season with Vince Young at QB, and I'm pretty sure they would've
whipped some a**!! I was at the game against the Giants when the Titans made one of the greatest 4th quarter comebacks in
NFL history! Next year the Titans will rule the NFL!
OK....so who's my favorite for the Super Bowl? I want
the Saints to win so bad that if they lose tomorrow, I probably won't even watch the Super Bowl! That city needs a miracle,
and I think America wants to see them get it! This is more than just a game, it's the chance to re-focus the nation on
an area that's still in ruins, and still needs the outpouring of support that came in soon after the hurricane.
Go Saints!

Friday, at last! It's been a good week.....the Nashville Preds are #1 in the NHL, thanks to their win last night over
the Columbus Blue Jackets! I'd have to say that I'm now totally converted to a Predators (and Titans) fan. My old
team, the Buffalo Sabres, is doing very well too. I'm hoping for the Sabres/Preds match-up in the Stanley Cup finals!
If you get a chance, please listen to "Pleasantville" on the Country music page. This is a rough acoustic
version, but I plan on doing a fuller production soon. Please leave comments if you have the time, and I hope you enjoy the
site!

Last night I uploaded an acoustic version of "Pleasantville" on the Country page
of this site. Please take a listen, and go to the "Pleasantville lyrics page" to listen to the
song while you read the lyrics. This song is one of my favorite songs, and I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as
I enjoyed writing it! John

Put yourself on the map! Please put yourself on the map before you leave. Just go to my "Where are you" page
and follow the instructions on the map. It's easy and only takes a minute. A little info or hello in the "shout out"

Blast from the past! Gamalon - Jazz/fusion - Buffalo, New York
For many
years I worked in the Buffalo music scene and had the chance to know some of the greatest original talent that Buffalo
has to offer. Recently I ran into some of my old hometown friends on MySpace, and it really struck me how long it's been
since I've seen many of these folks. One of my favorite Buffalo bands has always been the Jazz/fusion
group Gamalon. The members have changed over the years, but they still have the magic and the talent that
I spent many evenings listening to at the CPG in dowtown Buffalo. This band has always showcased some of
the finest musicians in Buffalo, and they're still recording and releasing albums independently. These folks have been
a great inspiration for me and I'd like to give you the link to their new MySpace Music site. This band
has given me a lot, and this is the least I can do to give something back. Please check them out at:
http://www.myspace.com/gamalonmusic
This band can jam both in the studio and especially live! They could really use your
support!
Thanks,
John

New web site!I'm very happy to finally get this website online! I've always wanted to do this, but I just kept putting
it off. When I joined MySpace I realized how important it is to promote on the web, especially for Indie artists like myself.
I hope that you'll keep coming back to check out the new music and features on this site, and I would also greatly appreciate
it if you send some of your friends this way!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
